Your first week sets the tone for years of family life with Optimus. Rushing setup leads to frustration; a methodical first seven days builds confidence for everyone — including kids and elderly family members.
Day 1: Unboxing & charging
- Place the charging station in a central, accessible location — not a closet
- Let Optimus complete its initial firmware check and self-diagnostics
- Do NOT run room mapping on day one — let the family meet Optimus first
- Run through the quick-start guide on the display with all family members present
Day 2–3: Room mapping
- Map in daylight with floors clear of clutter and cables
- Start with common areas: living room, kitchen, hallway
- Add bedrooms and bathrooms on day 3
- Mark no-go zones: stairs, utility closets, home office if desired
Kids are curious — let them watch mapping from a safe distance. It reduces fear and builds excitement for the first week.
Day 4–5: Family profiles
- Create a profile for each family member with voice and preference settings
- Set age-appropriate interaction levels for children
- Configure elderly family member assist preferences (mobility level, medication schedule)
- Assign a primary 'owner' account for settings changes
Day 6–7: First workflows
- Run one housekeeping task end-to-end (vacuum the living room)
- Try one family routine (morning kitchen tidy or evening dish loading)
- Run the 30-minute safety orientation with kids and elders
- Configure daily schedule windows so Optimus knows when it's 'work time' vs 'rest time'
